Poor Man’s Cake

375 degrees 25 to 30 minutes

1&1/2 cups boiling water
1/2 cup Oleo
1 cup raisins
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 cup sugar

Boil above mixture 3 minutes; let cool

Add to the cooled mixture sifted together:
2 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1 pinch salt

Pour into greased & floured pan & bake
Approx: 9 x 11″ pan

Elizabeth’s daughter, Jacqueline Mae (Parks) Tibesar, frequently
made Poor Man’s Cake for her five boys. It was very inexpensive to make!
